Lyrically the theme ranges from lovecraftian lore, nihilism, and the human condition. Musically, they have an incredibly technical and brutal approach to their song structures, with precise drum variations from brutal blast beats to complex double kick patterns to thoughtful mid pace. The vocalist performs confidently and holds his own with a full range of guttural spleen venting.
In all, Under the ocean is truly impressive and stands out from their contemporaries. I’m quite sure they are ready to take on the world stage.
