squash bowels two tracks "splinter in the ass" and "infusoria" have been mixed well and as a result this sounds quite 'clean' for grind! the guitars and bass are still merged together in a cacophony of thick solid riffs. the blast beats, which perhaps could have come up a little in the mix, still pound through your body, and the two vocal 'growls' (they give good 'grrr') force their way in and out of you but it's made me like it more - its not lo-fi and you can pay attention to the riffs which i like to do.
parricide have the three remaining tracks "about nothing", "carnivorous erection" and "i'll be the boss" - these are a wall of merged sounds; a little lo-fi. a low growl vocal to tear at your insides, solid drumming that drives a nail into your skull and again some solid chunky guitar riff work.
overall these two bands have made a good pairing - both as heavy and brutal as each other. for me i think squash bowels come out slightly ahead - but not by much! this is fast, short, brutal and solid...get this if you like grind you won't be disappointed - i wasn't...
