instead of being a constant harsh wall of guitar noise what you get from MKS is intelligently arranged and well played solid chords and riffs. the drumming throughout is brutal and pounding - this is a drummer who has his own style - and he follows the pattern of the guitar riffs with solid and strong rolls and fills. in addition to the solid chords and riffs there are a few brief moments of 'lead' guitar. "Atrocious Generosity" and "They Still Have a God" have some great riff sections and "Equal Zero Coincide" has a nice 'solo' part. the vocalist has an amazing low growl; he's very powerful but doesn't explore much of his range - there are one or two experiments where he'll ROAR at the listener but not enough; its impressive that his vocal is kept strong throughout the entire album.
overall i think perhaps this has too many tracks which i know is a weird thing to say, but they are ALL such strong and powerful songs - well arranged and well mixed - that it all becomes too familiar and similar by the end of the 42 minutes. its not that the songs aren't varied - it's all so heavy and intense. death metal fans will like that intensity. this is good - get it....these are guys who have passion for their music...
