there are no extraneous sounds here; everything builds up in its own sweet time and it successfully takes you out of yourself for a while. there is a nice tonality to the instrumentation and "my withering life" has some nicely sustained notes. the songs become more expressive especially "1999" but its a little short and i feel the ideas could have been expanded upon (basically i just wanted more).
listening to i AM esper always makes me feel relaxed, not secure on first listens because this guy likes to experiment and try new things but on the second or third you can just let the layers wash over you. i liked this; not for everyone but then if music was the world would be boring !!!
