The sound is surprisingly unique: The only member of Desolation came up with a synth sound verging between a regular keyboard and distorted guitar -- it doesn't even pretend to be guitar, but it feels like it. And it simply goes on, no discernible structures, as a stream of consciousness, as a journey.
Sometimes you might notice repeating parts, but most of the time you won't care as the symbiosis between the keys, the ambient sounds and the bestial, sunken growls never gets old. The only comparison possible would be to Vinterriket, but then it's not really similar in sound -- just the feeling. It's Desolation, the project you might have already known, this time with a slightly different, less "musical" and more moody approach. And the mood... there is enough of it to drown in it and never bother to look up.
