There's not much originality to be found on Trapped in Purgatory, but it probably wasn't the point anyway. Around since 2000 and with three albums under their belts, The Lustmord aren't newcomers. Just an honest band doing what they love, and if you are a fan of classic death metal and can be satisfied with simply good compositions, skillful musicianship and excellent sound, look no further. Speaking of the sound, it's not the deafening, downtuned kind but a properly listenable crunch with all instruments clear and audible and no gimmicks.
Even if it might be a bit too late for this kind of music and lyrics dealing with demons, zombies and dark spirits will hardly surprise anyone, The Lustmord don't care, and if you are the target audience neither should you.
